DETAILS
Material: cotton, wool; Technique: hand-crafted; various sizes
A series of toys or dolls for children of pre-school age. The dolls represent the human race in all its physical diversity; they differ in gender, skin colour, and in a number of other characteristics that make people different from each other (eye colour, hair, glasses, build, sickness or bodily deformation). The body parts are interchangeable.
The objective of playing is an affirmative approach to diversity, a fight against stereotyping. The imperfection and humanity of the dolls let children identify with them. The project belongs among the very few local examples of genuinely inclusive and socially responsible design.
