Libra Libera, a magazine for literature and other things, covers a broad spectrum of contemporary artistic and theoretical topics and literary forms — comic strips, excerpts from novels and dramaturgical texts, for instance. Each issue is dedicated to several topics, which is brought fully out in the design of the layout. Dejan Dragosavac Ruta, designer for Libra since 2000, is highly knowledgeable about all printing techniques, using his proficiency abundantly in the design of this journal. Experiments have become the basic visual code of the journal: from issue to issue, the only constants are the format and the basic typography, while all the other elements, including the covers, spine, page edges and treatment of the actual contents, are a subject of research.
