technique: sewing, folding materials in the origami technique, material: poplin—cotton (shirt), twill—cotton (skirt), polyster (handbag), 72 x 41 x 30 cm
This project deals with the formal and methodological investigation of the application of origami technique within an unusual material (fabric and not paper) in the interaction of two cultures (the tailored white shirt as symbol of the west). In the white of the redesigned shirt, in straight, geometrically regular surfaces, Japanese precision and clarity of form is brought out. The garment is cut with the technique of folding, thus obtaining new three-dimensional forms.
