This work was created through research into the emotional ties of user and objects. The author found inspiration in a very modest garment: a favourite worn-out T-shirt that affords the everyday luxury of comfort. The strips are hand knitted, forming an irregular structure is obtained by randomly knotting a single piece of material. The project also investigates various levels of contrasting meanings within a single item, including:
front and reverse (when the edge of knitwear is not hemmed, it turns inwards, and the reverse becomes visible);
tricot knit vs knitting (knitting out of knitting; both kinds of knitting are made of the same material; one becomes the structural material for the other)
machine work vs hand work (the meditativeness of hand work and whether it pays off in today's age of shortage of time and the availability of all kinds of fast and cheap stuff.
